200 tempo, 200

At the Marist track, 66º sunny, light winds, perfect to train shirtless.   Wanted to do another intensive tempo workout but slightly faster so I went with 4x200 w/ 75 sec rest.

Hoka trainers on

stretches, drill, bands, 2x100

Adidas trainers on

4x200m w/ 75 sec rest - 31.57, 31.50, 31.90, 31.22  (avg.  31.54)

200m - 27.47

I hadn't done a 4x2 set in a while so I didn't go out too crazy.  Kept them all around 31.5, and finished with the fastest rep.  I rested 10 min and ran a hard 200m.

It felt pretty hard.  I wanted to do more but I want to go out tomorrow and run some speed, maybe in spikes.

139.9 lbs after workout

While in ATL, I'm looking at used bikes.  Considering:  a Litespeed L1R with all Shimano DuraAce 7900  components, and upgraded wheels.  2nd choice is a Cervelo R3 Team SL.  Both bikes have numerous upgrades, full carbon, and weigh 15-16 lbs.

  1. Both are good bikes but the extra stiffness of the LR1 will not yield payback and the geometry is a little more aggressive. I would go with the Cervolo for those reasons; more comfortable ride for the aging body but still high performance.

    1. Thanks, that was my impression after riding both. Both similar weight, but the Cervelo was somehow more comfortable, don't know exactly why. Want to put a wide range cassette on it, 11-34.
