300s, 100s

It was a beautiful day in Sewanee, bright sunshine 63º early afternoon, light and variable winds.  I wasn't sure what to do today, to run submaximal 400m pace and put in some volume or tempo?  I originally planned to do a faster shorter tempo workout, like 3x300 at 48 w/ 3 min rest, but I decided to run the first 300m at close to race pace then take ~10 min between, far easier than a tempo workout.  I probably shouldn't have since I 'felt something' in my quad on the 2nd 300, so I have to be careful.  I wouldn't call it a strain, but maybe a slight strain, I massaged it out and ran another 300m and it was fine.  I then went to run a fast 150m, and bailed halfway just to be careful.  I finished with a couple 100s on grass, felt fine.  I then went to the gym and did one set of quad, ham, and adductor machines.

I've been running 4 days in a row and maybe should take tomorrow off and do a good submaximal tempo workout Wednesday morning.   Definitely want to do a good comprehensive prehab strengthening routine tonight and tomorrow to ward off any possible issues.
