I bought a used bike today. Probably paid a bit much but it seems like it's in very good condition and has many upgrades. So, I gave the kid a grand for it. It's a 10 yr old carbon frame with all new Ultegra components and wheels. It sold new for $4300 back in the day ($5000+ in today's dollars). Going to take it to the dealer Thursday for an inspection. I passed up a Litespeed L1R that cost $800 more also with many upgrades but it needed some adjustment and this one was ready to ride. The two bikes weighed about the same. This Cervelo weighs about 16.8 lbs. To buy just the wheels and components new would cost well over a thousand $, so I think it's not too much to spend.
