Meet list 2023 - season in review

2023 Meet Summary

Good year, considering it's the 4th year in my age group for outdoor season.  (Much better than my 4th yr in M55).  Two more USATF National Masters titles, bringing my total to 9.  Also, hardware from relays at Penn, Poland, and at Nationals.  After struggling with the 400m for the entire season, got the pace right at Nationals with a 57.59 and Bronze.

  1. Bill, those were very nice performances at Penn (13.19 in the 100, gold in the 4 x 100, silver in the 4 x 400) and elsewhere. Penn is especially important to me for several reasons: 1. was born in Philadelphia. 2. I ran at the Relays twice as a collegian (leadoff in the 4 x 400, one of the 200 legs in the sprint medley). (3) I would help the announcer by giving him/her significant facts about the stars. (4) I would take a key role in processing American or world records. Of course, one could argue that if a particular result at Penn surpasses the existing mark it should be ratified without an application unless someone can demonstrate an error in the time. After all, are not marks achieved at our nationals accepted without an application? Or is that not true any longer?
    (5) One of my degrees (MBA in health care administration) is from the University of Pennsylvania. My BA is from Haverford College.

    Peter L. Taylor

I was accepted by the University of Michigan's PhD. program for something called medical care organization, but the money was withdrawn before my first day. I worked at two academic medical centers in Philadelphia but eventually became known as an editor in the health care field.
